One Year!

by Juan Ruiz
August 26, 2005. It has been a whole year since my family and I moved. We miss all of our family and friends we left behind. Fortunately, we are all interconnected by the spaghetti of wires we call the Internet. Email makes it possible for us to communicate with each other, send pictures, share feelings and laugh at the occasional (or daily) joke. Phones are good too. The point is, many things have happened in a year. Specifically, the website Educate PC and its little brother AskJuan were born. You may have noticed that if you visit www.educatepc.com it will take you to www.askjuan.net . This is not a mistake! It's an experiment. You are witnessing the evolution of a website. From its tadpole origin to an upright inter-galactic-lunar-landing website. Yes, I have high hopes for this little experiment. by the way, I believe in creationism! I see myself as the creator of web sites that one day will go forth and multiply. ;) Enough philosophy for one day, let's get back to the bits and bytes of my story. In an effort to help my clients, this year I added AVG Antivirus to my arsenal against digital bugs. I did a lot of research on this topic and by far, AVG has been the best performer. Let me know if you are interested in hearing my story about virus scanners. In addition to AVG, I was instrumental in the development and/or optimization efforts of three commercial websites other than askjuan.net. Before the year is over, I will be offering web space services to a number of organizations in need of a website to promote their products, services, events, or information. So, churches get your weekly announcements ready; Soccer teams, get your meet schedules together; Inventors, get your gadgets in order; Musicians, master those mp3s because digital shingles will be hung. This year, Joyce I have logged hundreds of volunteer hours with the local church, elementary school, and Cub Scouts. It is a joy to be able to better our community by giving freely of our time. Currently, I am putting the final touches on a short film we shot over the summer with the kids at church. It is going to be exciting completing this project with original music and special effects written and produced right here in my office. One year. What an accomplishment! educatepc.com and askjuan.net thank you for your patronage, friendship and love. I hope you were not too distracted by my mixing of personal and business life. I can't tell them apart either. See you online ? Juan -
