Different Colors for My Folders

Question:
Is it possible to put different colors on the file folders in My Documents folder?

Answer:
I am assuming you want to distinguish your folders easier by color coding them. The answer to your question is yes. But, it is not as straight forward as one may think. AND it is not as hard as the last statement makes it seem either.

This is what I mean: You can change the appearance of any folder by applying a different icon. So if you wanted a different color folder, you would have to have an icon that looks like a folder in a different color.

Here's the mechanics of changing the folder's icon. First, right-click on the folder. Then, click on properties. When the popup window is visible, click on the tab labeled Customize. Toward the bottom of the window, you can find and click on Change Icon. Select an icon from the list and click OK. Last, click OK to make the changes visible.
