Ask Juan - Question and Answer
Organize Your Favorites
Question:
I have a number of items in my 'favorites' list, but they are not in alphabetical order. When I click on 'organize,' I don't see anyway of putting them into alphabetical order. Is there anyway I can do that without writing down the list, deleting all and then listing them alphabetically?
Answer:
You are in luck. This is one of the easiest procedures to perform. In fact, it works the same way in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox.
First, open your Internet browser. Then click on the menu item labeled Favorites (In IE) or Bookmarks (in Firefox.)

Do not click on the star icon in Internet Explorer as you will not get the same effect. The dropdown menu works best.
While the drop down menu is visible with all your favorites/bookmarks right-click on any item or folder, and you will get a pop-up menu with multiple choices. One of those is "Sort By Name" toward the bottom of the list. Click it.
As a bonus, Firefox has an additional option in the "Bookmarks" drop down menu. This option is called "Manage bookmarks" where you not only can sort by name, but also by location (web address), keyword, description, when it was added, modified, or accessed. Whew! What an excellent program Firefox is.

Speaking of which, have you downloaded your FREE copy of Firefox yet? If you have not, please click here to download your very own copy. Did I mention it is FREE? It is easy to install, and superior to any other browser. (http://askjuan.net/products/firefox.php)
Even with a dialup account Firefox will download within a few minutes. No subscription is necessary, you will not get spammed, and if you need help installing it, I will be happy to assist you…For FREE!
Why is it free? Because Google, a well trusted entity on the Internet has added value by providing its own toolbar and sponsoring the deployment of Firefox.
